Basco's selection of steel drums, plastic drums, fiber drums, intermediate bulk containers, plastic and steel pails and cans, glass jars, cardboard boxes, drum pumps, drum and container handling equipment, drum heaters, drum parts is second to none, for 75 years and counting.  We also offer a wide selection of safety cans, spill kits, safety cabinets, packaging supplies, and safety tools.

We know more about our products and their applications than anyone else. This assures our customers that they will always get the right product for the job, without compromise. Unlike non-specialized distributors and catalog houses, our Customer Service Representatives are specially trained to match our customers’ needs with the best product available. This guarantees that we consistently deliver the high level of personal service that is our real product, and our customers know that our prices are competitive with any ordinary catalog distributor or supply house.


Locations

Since 1946, container products have been our only business. This adds value and sets us apart from other companies that sell only a few of the same items. Our website presents over 5,000 products, including many unusual and hard-to-find items. Each product is selected for its utility and uniqueness.  Our main distribution center near Chicago, Illinois contains nearly 200,000 square feet of warehouse space. Our distribution centers in Arizona, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas get orders to our customers fast and complete, with minimum freight cost.

Regional Sales Representative

Position Overview:
Regional Sales Representative role is Texas based to cover parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The position involves selling packaging and packaging related products to various industries and customers dealing with manufacturing, packaging, filling and/or co-packing liquid and dry products. Some of the target markets include:

  • Chemicals
  • Janitorial Chemicals
  • Flavorings and Fragrances
  • Petroleum
  • Adhesives
  • Paints
  • Inks
  • Contract fillers

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the sales and growth of an assigned region and customer accounts
  • Maintain a constant search for organic sales opportunities with new and existing customers by utilizing and enhancing Basco’s current packaging portfolio
  • Negotiate sales contracts and business growth opportunities
  • Leverage Basco’s portfolio and operations strategy to meet the rapidly changing customer trends
  • Support internal and external teams to influence account objectives and support inside sales initiatives
  • Work closely on margin mix improvement initiatives to ensure year-over-year region growth in profitability
  • Attain and maintain maximum possible selling prices
  • Improve business earnings and cash flow through price implementation, cost reduction, volume mix change, inventory management and timely accounts receivable
  • Resolve account service and quality issues through the appropriate coordination with internal and external teams to maintain best in class customer relations
  • Be abreast of our competitor’s technology and strategy in the industry
  • Support a culture of growth and efficiency with total and absolute focus on customer satisfaction

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both writing and verbal, organizational skills, interact well with others and possess strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Have the ability to work independently and to plan and accomplish a variety of tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Advanced Excel Skills Preferred. Experience with Infor FACTS ERP is a plus
  • Experience in distribution sales, contract negotiations, and inventory control, particularly in the field of industrial distribution is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with UN specification packaging selling into the regulated hazardous material market is a plus
  • Experience with industrial packaging is preferable, but training can be provided
  • College degree preferred
