Recently, we had a customer call us up because they needed to ship flammable chemicals, and they needed to know for certain that they’d be doing it right. Improper storage of hazardous materials can lead to large fines from the DOT or EPA, and that’s the last thing anyone needs. As the industry experts, we were able to quickly and easily get them the right steel drums with a proper UN rating, and we’ve been working with them ever since.

This customer was shipping petroleum, and they needed steel drums as soon as possible, but they couldn’t find any easy to understand information on the internet that would tell them exactly what UN rating they needed. They could find tons of confusing charts and long articles, but nothing that could point them specifically to a drum for petroleum.

Thankfully, we understand UN ratings, so you don’t have to.

Our expert customer service team was able to pull up a closed head steel drum on our website that had the proper UN rating, and send them a link. With just a short explanation from our team, the customer had all of the information that they needed to make an informed buying decision. The steel drum that we sent them featured a closed head with a rust inhibitor lining, a sturdy gauge of steel, and two NPS fittings on the lid for filling and dispensing. We were able to fulfill their order the way they needed it, since over 98% of orders placed are shipped next day, with no minimum order quantity, from one of our distribution centers located strategically across the United States.

Now, almost two years later, we still work with that customer on a regular basis. Whenever they’re shipping or storing new chemicals or other products, we’re easily able to supply them with the right container.
