Picking a Drum Pump is Easy
BASCO has the largest selection of drum and pail pumps in the world. We’ve got a pump for every liquid - detergents, cleaners, lubricants, corrosives and other aggressive chemicals - and there’s one for every budget, too.
When it comes to liquid dispensing products (pumps, faucets, meters, etc) the most important question we ask is the obvious one: what’s the liquid? Of course, that’s not the only factor, and the choices aren’t always obvious.
For instance, we helped a customer who needed a pump for a “water-based” white glue. He wanted to pump only a few ounces at a time. But there was a twist: on closer questioning, we learned that he wanted to fill small bottles, and the spout of most drum pumps won’t fit in the narrow bottle neck. We made sure he got a Model P50P, an all plastic stroke pump with a curved spout. He got eight ounces per stroke and a narrow spout for no-mess bottle filling. Perfect!
For more efficient pumping with less effort, look at our Model P20055. This unique all-plastic pump delivers 15 ounces of product on both the upstroke and downstroke. That’s fast!
If you have limited headroom, check out our Model P950V. The lever-action handle delivers 8 ounces per stroke.
Siphon-type pumps like Model PSP1 are the most economical pumps available. Use the handle to start the flow from the drum into a pail – the liquid keeps coming until you stop it.
If you need to pump more than a few gallons each time, workin’ that handle gets old pretty quick!

Rotary- and piston-style pumps are a better choice for medium-volume jobs. You get a steady flow of liquid with a lot less effort. And you can pump over longer distances and greater heights, too. That’s important if you’re transferring motor oil or coolant from a drum to an engine or a machine.
Model RP935 is an inexpensive but durable cast iron rotary-type pump that delivers up to 5 gallons per minute. Model HPV3A piston-type pump is chemical-resistant plastic. It handles acids and caustics as well as most other chemicals.
Need to pump flammables? OSHA regs and local fire ordinances require you to use a Factory Mutual (FM) Approved or UL-Listed pump. Model P55TST is great for low volume jobs. It delivers 8 ounces per stroke, comes complete with grounding and bonding wires, and it’s FM-Approved. It’s the world’s first truly affordable safety pump. Now everyone can afford to be safe!
Model BR210F is a rotary-type pump that will handle flammables (like gasoline and solvents) and deliver up to 10 gallons per minute with a lot less effort. And, finally, we have a wide range of electric- or air-powered drum and pail pumps for the biggest drum pumping jobs you have.
A drum pump is an investment in productivity and safety. Getting the right one will save time and money. BASCO will help you choose the pump that’s absolutely the right one for you – the first time, every time.
