  • Plug Style: Check whether the drum uses a round-head or hex-head
  • Capseal Material: Choose from plastic or steel options based on the application and closure requirements.
  • Installation Method: Determine whether you need a snap-on capseal that can be applied by hand or a crimp-on capseal that requires a capseal crimping tool.
  • Drum Compatibility: Verify that the capseal is compatible with the fitting on your steel or plastic drum.

Important: Drum capacity alone does not determine capseal size. Always match the capseal to the specific drum fitting and closure.

Snap-On vs. Crimp-On Drum Capseals

  • Snap-On Capseals - press over compatible drum fittings and can typically be installed without a crimping tool. They provide a convenient option when quick, tool-free application is preferred.
  • Crimp-On Capseals - are secured around a compatible drum fitting using a capseal crimping tool. Once properly applied, the capseal provides visible evidence if the closure has been accessed or the seal has been removed.
