Once you know whether it will, or might, contain hazardous materials, you can specify the size, material, fittings, and type of lining required based on its use.
If your drum is going to be used to hold hazardous materials, it needs to meet the UN/DOT 49 CFR 173.3 (c) requirement to handle damaged or leaking containers of hazardous material. Some of these drums are constructed of high quality carbon steel, while others are plastic.
There is a range of sizes to choose from as well as various cover types, fittings, linings and colors. If you need help, contact our Customer Service Experts and they can guide you through the decision-making process.
1. Drum Type
BASCO offers only open-head salvage drums to enable easy access because many salvage drums are used to hold damaged or leaking containers.
2. Drum Closures
Drums are available with bolt-type fittings or quick lever lock rings. Some drums feature twist-off covers.
3. Drum Material
Salvage drums are available in high quality carbon steel or a range of sturdy plastics. UN Ratings vary, so it’s important to know what’s required for the material the drum will be holding. Need help? Contact our Customer Service Experts by email or phone.
